We first wrote about Canadian triathlete Rachel McBride in this June blog post when she was smack in the middle of her 2012 racing season. Quick recap of what she’s like:
She’s busy like a bee in late summer (tri-athlete, cellist and genetics researcher)
She’s smart like Ken Jennings playing Jeopardy! (two masters degrees – genetics)
She’s fast like a cheetah on Warp 10 (last half marathon – 1:26:53)
Okay, now you’re up-to-date! Let’s get to the serious stuff!
Rachel finished her 2012 season with 2 victories! She is now an official Ironman 70.3 Champion after coming off a win at Ironman 70.3 – Austin, Texas. Not one to rest, she went ahead and won the New Balance Fall Classic Half Marathon in Vancouver just a couple weeks later! Not bad considering Rachel was coming off a stress fracture injury to her foot.
Here’s what she said about Travel Roller and her training:
Part of developing as a professional athlete is recognizing the best ways to keep your body healthy. If I learned anything in 2012, it’s that myofascial release on my Travel Roller needs to be part of my daily long term injury prevention and management.
And now we’re blushing. Gosh… thanks!
I guess all we can say is… Congratulations Rachel on your two victories that capped off an incredible 2012 season! Way to go!
Travel Roller is proud to support such an incredible athlete and person.
